Service Limits And Assumed Risks:

 

Engaging In therapy can be life-changing, carrying both benefits and risks for the client. Therapy sessions can be crucial in reducing the distress someone may be feeling, improving their relationships, and resolving other specific issues. Unfortunately, these improvements cannot be guaranteed for all conditions as many variables affect therapy sessions.

During a therapy session, uncomfortable feelings may be experienced, and discussions regarding unpleasant situations or significant aspects of your life are considered as risks of the therapy sessions. 

 

Limits of Confidentiality:

 

It goes without saying that what you discuss during your therapy session will be kept confidential. No information from the therapy sessions, including those verbal or written, will be shared with another party without the written consent of yourself or your legal guardian. There are exceptions which are listed below:

 

Duty to Warn and Protect

If you are to disclose a plan or threat to harm yourself, I must consider notifying your family and the legal authorities. Additionally, if you disclose a plan to harm another person, I must warn the possible victim and notify the relevant legal authorities.

 

Abuse of Children and Vulnerable Adults

If you are to disclose, or it is suspected, that there may be abuse or harmful neglect of children or vulnerable adults in any way (i.e. the elderly, disabled), then It is my duty to report this information to the appropriate agency or legal authorities.

 

Prenatal Exposure to Controlled Substances

I must report any admitted prenatal use of controlled substances that could lead to harm to the mother or the child.

 

Minors/Guardianship

The parents or legal guardians of clients who are minors have the right to access the clients’ records. 

 

Insurance Providers

          Insurance companies and other third-party payers may be given the information they request regarding their clients' services.

 

The type of information that they may request includes types of service, dates/times of service, treatment plans, description of issues, the progress of therapy, case notes, summaries, etc.

 

Cancellation Policy

 

 

If you find yourself unable to attend an appointment, I request that you provide at least 48 hours advanced notice to myself. Since it is unlikely I will be able to use this slot for another client, please note that you will be charged for the entire cost of your scheduled appointment if it is not timely cancelled. 

 

For cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice of a scheduled appointment that is completely missed, you will be charged for the full session fee. 

I appreciate your help in keeping the practice schedule running timely and efficiently.   

Refund Policy

  • Bookings are none transferable to other individuals

  • I require at least 48 hours notice to be given for any appointment cancellation (See cancellation policy)

  • Session cancelled within the agreed notice period can be rescheduled to a later date.
