About Me

​

I am a qualified therapist providing a variety of services to suit specific conditions including Psychotherapeutic Counselling and Clinical Hypnotherapy. I have previous experience of working within mental health hospitals, working with vulnerable adults suffering with a wide range of issues, such as depression, anxiety, low self-confidence, stress and eating disorders.

I am registered with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC)  & Trauma Research Foundation.

As well as working in private practice I am also an approved Anxiety UK , certified ADHD clinical service provider (ADHD-CCSP) and Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist (ASDCS)​

My private practices are based in both Glasgow & Preston provides support, for issues that includes Trauma, Behavioural and emotional issues including Self-Harm. In addition my specialism is neurovisity including ADHD & Autism. 

Before my mental health career begun, I had a long and successful career, as a sports athlete and coach at local, national and international level. This vast experience gives me a deep understanding and empathy of the pressures and mental health issues, that can affect athletes and players at all levels. 

 

I have an deep understanding how having good mental health is important for success in sports, I also understand that sometimes the decision to leave our chosen sport can be a difficult and often grief filled process. I offer support for any players who are deciding whether to or have already made the difficult decision to leave their sport for various reasons, including retirement or injury. Understanding the link between performance and sports players suffering from any forms of anxiety or mental health concern is a speciality of mine.

 

In addition to therapy I use mindfullness, photography and martial arts as tools for self care and grounding with my clients, especially paramount for those requiring in-depth somatic work.

I would say my therapy practice is Integrative and holistic in its approach to my clients goals and concerns. This allows me to create the type of relationship and environment that enables you, the client to feel safe enough to grow and share, whilst offering compassion, empathy and understanding.
